Event Information

The eleventh meeting of the Statistical Conference of the Americas, took place under a hybrid format (virtual and in person), from 23 to 25 November 2021, has been organized by the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) and the Government of Colombia, through the Departamento Administrativo Nacional de Estadística (DANE).

At this eleventh meeting, the Statistical Conference of the Americas discussed two substantive topics: progress and challenges for the modernization of national statistical legislation and the consolidation of national statistical systems; and regional perspectives on the use of new methodologies and data sources for statistical production.  The States members also reviewed  the outcomes of the biennial programme of regional and international activities, 2020–2021, of the Statistical Conference of ECLAC, approved the establishment of working groups for the period 2022–2023 and the new Executive Committee of the Conference was elected.

Chair

Colombia, in its capacity as Chair of the Executive Committee of the Statistical Conference of the Americas of ECLAC, was preside over this eleventh meeting of the Statistical Conference of the Americas.
